In Telugu films, the hero meets exactly the kind of people he needs to meet in real life on the day he needs it. In Check, Aditya (Nithin), a self-taught chessmaster, clashes with a young girl who loves chess. The girl appears to be playing chess with the boy, everywhere, on the courtyard. And the girl, who continues to be amazed at Aditya's ingenuity, is the granddaughter of the judge. Bingo! At Check, miracles are just a chess square.

The case is partially placed in jail. Aditya was sentenced to death by firing squad for plotting to assassinate a number of terrorists. It does not mean that he is innocent but that no one wants to listen to his story. Srimannarayana (Sai Chand), one of the inmates at the prison, believes he is innocent. She lays eggs on Aditya to use her chess skills to protect the President's mercy by playing for the country. But this does not appeal to some people, especially the Superintendent of mercurial Police (played by Sampath Raj).

In real life, a terrorist prisoner getting a chance to play in the Commonwealth Games could be a divisive national debate. Thousands of plans and one million social media posts will be written on this question: "How can a traitor represent the world?" But the film avoids all of these problems and incorporates all the frustration and anger in one character - a caricaturish cop who is reduced to being a helpless opposition hero in an unintended turn of events.

The film is based in a fairy tale prison where inmates are fighting each other, sometimes violent, while the police are looking the other way. This place does not look like it is inhabited. It is as if prisoners have a lot of time to enjoy themselves and get involved in self-promotion fights at a college or something. One of them (played by Harshavardhan) appears to be sharing his astronomical details while playing free local uncle's videos.

Director Chandrasekhar Yeleti, still revered for his brilliant films such as Aithe and Anukokunda Oka Roju, incorporates random Sankrant quotes (read 'Yadbhavam tad bhavati') without creating gravity. The hero becomes a master of chess overnight and the one explanation given by this amazing technology is this: Many heroes in history find themselves dragging a prison sentence. Oops!

Aditya, a trick before he became a criminal, deceives everyone with an engineering ploy. This feature should have taken the film to another level but with the way laziness is discussed in the climax.

Underneath the cover of the quasi-chess drama the film wants to be, Explore is actually a bunch of ridiculous segments. If wars that diminished gravity in the prison system were the result of a residual outburst, at least their context should have been different. But it's all about the character of Nithin who turns into a savior or something.

The film continues to jump for a while but the timeline is blurred. The chess scenes were supposed to be the soul of the film. Here, the director tries to give the impression that the hero's success in each game, some of which include sports legends such as Viswanathan Anand (!), Is prearranged. OK if logic is lost. But it is not good if the disagreement is minimized.
