krack movie review

Ravi Teja-Starrer Krack, perhaps, is the first Telugu film for big tickets to hit theaters this year. After the Sankranti war between Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in 2020, no other film could paint such a hype before its release. Well, most of it was produced yesterday, as builders ran from the pillars to the post office to ensure its smooth sorting across the country and the world. Better late than ever, really!

krack movie review

It sounds like a decade since Ravi Teja played a film that knew its purpose and ambition. After Kick (2009), he appeared in many regular games that did not bring anything new to him. Well, some of them were box office hits, but they were few and far between, and most of them were typical dishoom-dishoom business. But Krack is different, especially because it feels different.

The hero, here, knows exactly what he wants and there are always bad people trying to stop him. However, he goes ashore without much damage. Oh, these should not be considered looters - these are still the foundation on which Indian action films are built.

When Shankar (Ravi Teja) enters safely, he is sitting behind his wife Kalyani (Shruti Haasan) on a motorcycle. A deceptive tactic that introduces all family members at once - father, mother, and son. Although he wants to slow down, the son wants to go. The following is a collection of humorous scenes depicting the home life of a police officer, dealing with criminals from morning till night.

Krack Movie Review: The Most Fun Action Thriller, featuring Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan

Telugu filmmakers have a habit of getting into a fun episode featuring protagonists. They do not rely on their abilities to present themselves as a married couple with a child. Somehow they set the clock and make room for a dating song. Do they have nightmares when they fail to brush between the falling-in-love montage? It does not come as a hurdle, but does it not pass the need to install that particular trope?

Oh, and talking about tropes, Krack broke the modern template with the help of its main source of inspiration - Kannada Thriller Tagaru (2018). In Tagaru, director Soori had the hero (himself, a policeman) kill the opponents first and then allowed the screen game to flow to look at the reasons for the bloodthirsty revenge story. Krack, on the other hand, does not do that directly. It takes a big part in that new device and it twists a bit. The villains, equally disgusted and powerful in the Telugu movie, are portrayed as prisoners in the opening squares. It is a gentle reminder to tell you that Shankar has done his job. Criminals will not go out and do stupid things to manipulate their emotions.

The terrorist-related part of Saleem Bhatkal (Chirag Jani) is a prelude. He’s not the Sun where Krack is around. That is the fame of Katari Krishna (Samuthirakani). Even Krishna is imprisoned in the central prison. So, the film is about how they ended up in prison. This is a template for Tagaru!

Although Krishna finds the man killed within the first hour and Shankar tries to compile the clues, it is not a whydunit as we get all the answers before. Not a great whodunit either. All aimed at viewers. We do not have to scratch our nails while sitting in court. But it is still exciting because so many miracles come from random places. Moreover, the miracles are about the main characters themselves.

And since the entire film was set ten years earlier, over time the portraits of the films that adorn the walls of the cities in which Krack was organized - Ongole, Kurnool, Kadapa, and Vetapalem have been shown. Additionally, Jayamma (Varalaxmi Sarathkumar), another bustling Krishna, is a filmmaker who watches all the latest releases in theaters. This really has a nice effect when you consider that this is a typical masala broadcaster.

Coming back to the idea of incentives, director Gopichand Malineni has borrowed heavily from the Tamil film Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), too. Members of the gang - wanted by Shankar - walked on four legs like a pack of wolves and attacked the people mercilessly. If you remember Theeran, you will be able to see the similarities.

If there is one big grouse I have against Krack, imitate Samthirakani as the main opponent. It is well documented in the Tamil cinema books that you are a great actor. But when it comes to Telugu movies, his face does not acknowledge the same kind of cruelty. His inability to utter sound in another language may put a speaker on his wheel. If P Ravi Shankar, who also plays the role of star, had taken his place, it would have been much better.
